WorldSkills is your chance to let your skills shine, get recognised within your industry and attract attention as a young and skilled champion. You’ve had to work hard to get where you are today – It’s time to show everyone your commitment and what you are capable of!
WorldSkills is Australia’s largest and most prestigious trade and skills competition. WorldSkills is a competition program for
young Australians interested in challenging their skills and ability against other young trade or skilled people in their area, the nation and the world!
Competitions take place every two years in 30 regions right across Australia (Adelaide 1 July 2009). By competing in WorldSkills competitions you’ll
have your chance to really get noticed on a Regional, National and
International level. WorldSkills competitions will inspire you to be the best you can be and to prove how well you know the skills of your job.
At the competition you will be provided with a work area. Each work area in your category is identical, meaning each competitor will have the same materials, equipment and instructions. You will be given a competition project to complete over one day. You can bring your own tools according to a list provided in the Project Information package. Your work will be assessed both during and at the end by a panel of experts. Competition results will be announced as soon as possible and you will be presented with a certificate and a score sheet which will detail how you rated in each area. If you win you may be eligible to progress to the National Competition in 2010.
The 2009 WorldSkills Australia regional competitions are free to enter and open to anyone born on or after 1.1.1986. All applicants must either;
